RHUMDERRY HAVANESE

Testimonials & Photos

Hi Wendy,

Hope you are well.  Just thought I’d send a couple of cute pics of Coco who is now 6 months.  What an absolute charmer she is.  Everyone who meets her falls in love. Such a sweetheart and very affectionate we just adore her.  She’s just been desexed and is loving her new home.  Very very friendly I just wish I had more.

As you can see she has an undie fetish and just look at those guilty eyes!  She sends her regards.

Let me know if there are any picnic days and we will bring her.

Thanks
Jacqui

Dear Wendy,

I just wanted to let you know how Scully is getting on - he was born 11 Aug 2011 and you popped him on plane to us and he arrived well and happy.

Frankie is his father, Pumpkin is mum. (Beauty and brains)

He is our first dog and the most excellent dog in the world. He has brought us so much happiness and joy that all other pets now will forever pall in comparison.

He has a beautiful nature and we are very grateful he is in our lives.

We recommend the Havanese wherever we go and have made a few converts :)

Thank you again Wendy, he is a beautiful boy.

> Message : Hi Wendy,
> Just a thank you for our beautiful dog, Baxter!  He was born on the 10th May 2012 (Row the Boat).  He is the most delightful dog, so friendly, polite and loyal. He is incredibly loved by the whole family. Shortly after he came to our home our 6 year old daughter broke her leg and had to spend 6 weeks in hospital. Fortunately, little Baxter was allowed to visit and was a great comfort at this difficult time.  I would love to send you some photos of Baxter, but I can't seem to find your email address.  Let me know if you'd like me to.

Hello Wendy!

It’s Mekah; I just saw on your site that you have two new litters! I just wanted to email you to congratulate you! Smile They all look beautiful, fury little angels!

I’ve also added with this email a few of my favourite pictures of Jedi so you can see how healthy he has grown, one or two of them include Toby, you sold him to Pete's Mum from I think your last litter. Pete and I fell in love with Jedi the moment we met him at two weeks old and have now grown to love him as though he was our child! We love how he smiles and gets all excited when we say the word “Walkie!” He starts to almost make a excited whimper noise and starts to softly scratch our leg or arm when we start to put on our shoes as though to say, “c’mon mum/dad! Hurry up!” Smile with tongue lol. I’ve also come to love how he MUST insist on coming with me to the toilet every time and if I don’t let him he will stay on the other side of the door and make a very high pitched and sad bark while scratching on the door! Maybe he is afraid that I will flush myself down the toilet, never to return?Rolling on the floor laughing Haha. For the first few months Jedi seemed to have only really warmed up to Pete and didn’t take much notice of me, it’s only really been in the last three or so months that he has wanted to be closer to me and boy has he! We have noticed that he treats us both differently and shows his affection towards us differently too. If he gets scared he will come running to me and if I’m sitting he will curl up on my lap and nudge my hand to pat him for comfort, he also does this after being told off when he has been bad! Smile with tongue And also loves sleeping on my lap too but he will not curl up on Pete’s lap instead at night time while we both watch some T.V before bed Jedi will curl up next to Pete just under his armpit, rest his head on Pete’s chest and then lets out a big puff of air signalling that he is now very comfortable with Daddy. He enjoys watching T.V with us, however if a dog, monkey or a horse pops up on the screen he will jump up, run to the end of the bed and bark at it! Especially if it’s a horse! Nyah-Nyah And finally when the animal is gone he prances proudly back to Pete’s side all happy that he had successfully scared off the intruderHot smile!

I think Jedi sees Pete as more of his “master” as he listens more to Pete when told off, he also sees him as his “protector” as he will always hide behind Pete if confronted by a large dog while on a walk, even if I am right next to him and Pete is a whole 20 or so meters away! Lol. Jedi sees me as his “Mummy” comes to me for hugs, pats, nap while he is like this to Pete but in a more playful way.

However he sees us we do know for sure that he sees us both with intense love, Jedi is my first dog and before him mornings for me were fairly rough but now I can’t help but wake up in a good mood! How could you not when a cute little doggie starts licking your face all excited that you are now finally awakeRed heart.

Sorry if this e-mail is a little long! I’ve been meaning to send you an email expressing my gratitude for bringing Jedi into my life, he has really changed for the better, he has brought so much love and happiness to our homeSmile.

Thank You.Red lips

 Hi Wendy,
Just letting you Know how the puppy is going. He is absolutely
beautiful he has settled into our family as if he has always been here
Sadie our tibbie loves him she is so good with him soon tells him when
he goes to far they sleep together and she likes to wash his face to
calm him down when he gets a bit silly. I have called him Riley. He
has his 2nd injection on Wednesday and I am looking forward to taking
him out properly. He is booked into puppy school in a couple of weeks
so I can not wait to get started with him. He really is a lovely good
natured dog and I feel very lucky to have found him thank you. I will
keep you updated and try and send some photos as he grows.
kind regards Betty.

Hello Wendy

Well what a gem of a little dog Bonny is. My goodness she has just settled into our life so fast it feels like she has been with us longer.

Our day consisted of dropping over to our house at Ivanhoe to check on it because it is vacant in preparation for a big renovation. After that we went to the pet store for new collar, lead, toys, eye stain lotion etc then stopped off at a café. She was amazing and took it all in her stride. When we returned home to the flat above our warehouse we recently moved to then spent many hours moving furniture, unpacking boxes, up and down stairs etc etc……and again Bonny took it all in her stride.

Frank is a very very happy man tonight because Bonny is sitting with him on the sofa watching tv. He has always wanted a lap dog; little Bonny has taken to him and he loves it.

Thanks Wendy……you know how to grow’m. LOL

 Hi Wendy,

Obi is doing quite well. I think she's starting to get used to us a bit more now and is settling in nicely. We are still struggling with the toilet training but there's progress. We're attending puppy pre-school too and Obi's first session is this Wednesday. It's always a challenge trying to maintain consistency in the training with the kids but we're doing our best. Helen.

Hi Wendy,

Just a quick note to say thanks again.

Beanie is absolutely beautiful in every way.  Along with being extremely cute, he has a really lovely disposition too.

Kind regards,

Janice, Mick and Finn

Hi!

I just wanted to give you an update on how Sakura Havanese( one of your May 2009 puppies) is doing in Japan. He handled the big quakes well and even evacuated to the US on a tiny commuter plane with the rest of our family.  Anyway, my story that I wanted to share with you happened last week. I work at our base elementary school so I know most of the children. On Saturday, my son wanted to ride his scooter on the school playground so Sakura and I walked while he did that. Our most needy student, a boy with autism, came to play with his Dad. Well, he immediately noticed Sakura so I went over to say hello. His dad said that as far as he know that it was his first dog interaction. So I let him pet Sakura, who stayed completely calm. Even restraining his head (just in case the boy was too rough) but it was unnecessary. A few minutes later, the boy ran over and grabbed the handle of the leash. When I asked, he indicated that he wanted to walk him. So I gave him the handle and I held the middle part as we both walked Sakura.  Then he ran off again. A few minutes later, he came and found us again. Sakura was sitting in the shade under me as I sat on the swing. The boy came and sat down in front of us and again inidicated that he wanted to pet him. The boy was completely gentle and very found of Sakura's tail hair, lol. The young man's father was in shock as his wife isn't an animal lover and they have never had pets, let alone dogs. So on Monday, I communicated what happened with several of his teachers to their surprise. They have gotten permission from his mother to have at least one more interaction so that the staff that work with him can see how he interacted with Sakura and even initiated communication with me. While I am not giving my Hav up even to such a worthy kid, I recommended looking into a therapy dog for him. :) I knew that he had the possibility of being one of those special dogs since he's been the hit of my grandmother's senior center when we visit the US. He knows when to stay cool, calm, and collected. But I never dreamed that he would bring a silent boy, who doesn't communicate with others, out of his shell.   He may not do agility or be a show dog, but he's one in a million to us. Thank you for entrusting us with such a special lil guy.

Hi Wendy,

Its Nicky here. I thought I would send you a few pics of my gorgeous choccy boy! I still can't get over how lucky I am to have him! He is coming along really well. Very smart, quick to learn and affectionate! He is having his last injection today so really looking forward to walking him! He has fitted in really well and has even made friends with the cats! (Well until he wears them out! Ha) Mind you he isn't without a little naughty streak, but that only makes me love him all the more! Everyone who meets him can't believe how cute he is and its great to introduce people to the breed.

Wendy

hope things are going well

Just to let you know that Freddie and Frankie were desexed on Friday.  All is well.  The Vet took the opportunity to do a full physical/blood tests, etc and said they couldn't be be healthier.  I'll send you some photos onec we get the Elizabethan Collars off (which they hate).

We attended puppy training school
at our Vet's tonight. Arlo was very well behaved and a little shy at
first. Kaihau and I learnt alot. We really want him to be lovely as
well as obedient. There was a little silver and black schnauzer there
as well as a staffie,a terrier x and a very badly behaved
kelpie/collie cross.(someone hadn't done their homework about suitable
dogs for the city!!:( )

The trainer thought we had made an excellent choice and was very
impressed with him. We got some advice on preparing him for a groomer.
When would you recommend we take him, his fur is getting quite long
around his face. He weighs 2.5kg now and is growing fast.

Thanks very much for letting us have him. He is a much loved part of
our family. Perhaps, if you have a show not too far from here, we
could bring him to see you,

Kindest regards,
Trish

Hi Wendy,

how are you? Hope all is well. Pepsi is nearly 14 weeks now and going along well. We started puppy school and have the final class on wednesday night. He loves to hump a little Westie...LOL.

We have taken him on a few walks around the block on a lead and he is quite good. He is so energetic that a fair bit of exercise is good for him. He managed to chew the backing off the vet bed, so he now sleeps on another soft bed.  I haven't given him any bones yet but was wondering if I could start giving him raw chicken necks or wings or is he still a bit young? He likes raw carrot pieces.

Hope your little girl is going well.  I've attached a recent picture of Pepsi for you.

Cheers, Anne.

Hi Wendy,

I hope you and the family are all doing well. I just thought I would give you an update on Koby. He's just over 4 months old now and as cute as ever :) We've started him in puppy school and he can already sit, drop, shake and hi-five, much smarter than the other pups who've only just learned to sit! (no bias at all). He's got heaps of energy and definitely gets us walking and running more than we used to which is great, but he's also very affectionate and takes every opportunity to climb up onto our laps for a cuddle. He gets into everything as pups do, and has a particular liking for our socks which we have to make sure we keep hidden :) And he hardly ever barks which is wonderful! We hear other dogs yapping away all the time but Koby only ever barks to let us know if someone is at the door. We're obviously a couple of proud parents.

I've attached a few photos so you can see how much he's grown already. Thank you again for introducing us to such a wonderful breed. The training you gave them in the beginning helped a great deal, he isn't anxious when we have to leave him alone for a couple of hours and he's never soiled his crate or where he sleeps or plays. Every time we take him for a walk we are stopped by someone asking what breed he is and where we got him from and we will always recommend you to people looking for a pet as perfect as ours :)

Hi Wendy

We picked up our puppy (originally named Timmy or Tommy, but now Waldo) July 20 and I thought it was time for an update on his progress.

It is like he was always part of our family. He is a cheeky and active pup. We attend training weekly and I am planning to do obedience trialling with him. He is learning to heel well for a few steps, sits automatically, does not pull on the lead and has a wonderful recall. His stands are develping well but drops remain a work in progress. He is well socialized and shows no fear or agression. Hos aggression has been limited to a box of tissues that became confetti very quickly and the need to make streamers out of toilet roll!

We have joined the Schnauzer Club and recently attended the fun day.

Hi Wendy,

The little girl arrived safe and sound in Mackay.  She is a wonderful little thing and we are very excited.

I will email you in a little while with her progress.

                                  Thanks again.

Hi Wendy

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, but we have had a chaotic 12 months.  I have attached so photos of Frankie and Anna's puppy who we call Millie Rose.  Thank you for giving us the honor of having such a beautiful soul in our family.  Millie Rose is just perfect!  As I am writing this email to you she is out the back with my daughter Bianca cutting capers!  They run and play all day and then curl up together on the lounge to watch TV.  Bianca simply adores her and they love to play dress-ups.  You will see in the photos that Bianca turned Millie Rose into a princess for her birthday.

It is hard to find anyone that has heard of the breed let alone seen one so when ever we go anywhere Millie Rose is the centre of attention (which she loves).  I recommend the breed to everyone and tell all my friends that they need to get a Havanese for their kids.

We have had many trips to Brisbane with her and she loves they car even though sometimes she can get a little travel sick.  Millie Rose enjoys playing with my father's Sheltie, Finn.  Dad cannot get over how intelligent she is and he spoils her rotten.  I think he would like to have her but Bianca would never allow that to happen.

She loves bath time and simple adores being blow dried, she lays on her back and stretches out her legs one at a time.  She doesn't enjoy being brushed tough, and hides under the coffee table when she sees me with her brush in my hand.

Thank you again for this much adored member of our family, we love her to bits!!!

Rachel

Hi Wendy, Still enjoy regular visits to your site. Love seeing our little Harvey and his littermates. Congratulations on Jonsey's recent show results. I keep telling Harvey that is dad is a champ! Still yet to meet another person who knows what a havanese is! However everyone who meets ours loves him. P.S. No problems with the boys' allergies, would certainly recommend havanese to allergy sufferers

Name : Amanda

Comments : Hi Wendy Still love looking at your site. Bailey is adorable, we certainly picked the right breed!

Wendy,

Just wanted you to see our beautiful dog that you sold us last summer. He's turned out to be something really special and a great addition to our family!

#1- Gabriel and Sakura

#2- Hello!
#3- my Grandmother (who hasn't had a dog in 25 years due to severe dog allergies) loving Sakura. She had not a single problem when she's seen him.

Sakura does very well with senior citizens as well as children. He is so gentle and his obedience instructor feels like he would make an excellent therapy dog because of his personality and learning ability.  Everyone likes his looks and then loves his temperment. :)

Laura-
wife, mom, teacher

Hi Wendy,

We are so glad we have the two as they have both settled in very well. And thanks to your part toilet training we have only had 1 little wee on the floor so far, no poos so far. All the rest have been outside, so thank you for that.

Hi Wendy

Truffles the Havanese (Singapore)

is a happy, very loved member of the Ong family, with everyone doting on him. His 'dad' even considered giving him French cut lamb chops for dinner!! And I've been told he occasionally gets to share Wagyu beef with the family!

Regards

Le-Anne

Hello there, just a quick note to let you know we got the papers for

Jethro so thank you for that.  I have attached a photo of Jethro taken today after his bath (which by the way he quite enjoys.)

He is settling in so well and so much a part of our family.  He is much loved and is just a joy to have.

Thank you again for all your help.  Jethro is a happy, healthy little boy and loves his walks and play time.

cheers from George and Lana, Tasmania

Hi Wendy,

Kiera ( Mini Schnauzer)is absolutely fabulous.   She is very well behaved (for a puppy) and is settling in well.  She does have an obsession with shoelaces, but is slowly learning she is not allowed to eat my feet!   She is also very good at weeding, but plant identification really needs some work.  She also needs work on learning not to bring the outdoors indoors, particularly when his involves dead pot plants, with the root ball & soil still attached.

She is getting along well with my other dog, Alec – he can be a bit grumpy sometimes, but they also have a lot of fun together.   They have mock battles which are a lot like championship wrestling, and Keira has shown a remarkable ability to do commando rolls.

I have attached a photo of her in her “day bed” (also known as cardboard box).

Regards,

Leonie

Hi Wendy, just wanted to let you know all is well.  We have named him Flynn.  He has settled in so well, we adore him and he adores us.  Thank you very much for our beautiful boy.  We wish you and "your family" every success for the future.  Cheers Roger and Susan

Hi Wendy,

We thought we better let you know how things are going.  Sasha has settled in very well with us and we have got use to having another baby in the house.

The first couple of nights were a bit tough for her (and us) but she is sleeping right through the night now and going to the toilet by herself in the right place without any whining after.

She is growing so quickly.  On the first day we brought her home she struggled to get into her den (inside) and kennel (outside), now she just bounds in  and out.

She is such a cutie.  See attached photos.
